The renovations were done to improve the layout within each living module, introduce ADA compliance, provide central air conditioning, energy monitoring, sprinklers and wireless reporting to the local NYC Fire Station.
Prior to engineering and design, an investigative study was conducted to evaluate the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems at the existing Buildings. This was done to reutilize as much of the existing piping and equipment to save capital costs.
Construction was completed in summer of 2003.
